It is true that parents amy feel that video games are not beneficial for their children. However, this is mainly because most parents notice the few minor poitns about video games. But there are plenty of facts about the usefulness of video games that parents sould take note of.
Over the years video games have become more advanced and require more brain work. When one plays a game, one's brain is constantly at work and alert. Popular games such as Halo 3 and Guitar Hero keep players in this state. As a result, one may have faster reflexes, develop increased motor skills, and dexterity. Recently, people all ages were able to exercise while playing games such as Dance Dance Revolution and Wii Fit. Dance Dance Revolution was even placed in schools for student's gym exercise classes and the Wii was placed in many homes for daily exercise by adults and children. Video games are useful for exercising physical and mental abilities.
In addition to video games being useful, they are a great way to make friends on online gaming. Due to the large population of people that play video games, if one enjoys video games one can share the same fondness with another person. A close friendship can be made between the two people. Parents should realize that they should not exclude children from video games because they enjoy it and children can easily relate to people because so many people play them. Video games are actually very useful to children and teens.
Parents claim that video games are the cause of their children's eye problems. However, video games aren't the only things that may agitate a person's eyes. Reading in the dark or staring at the computer for hours can cause a person's eyes to hurt, as well. Unlike books and the computer, video games do not hurt one's eyes as much. Video games are very different from other activities and people should give attention to that.
Clearly, video games are not as harmful as people think they are. Video games give advantages to people and people should take them. Video games give a person a fun way to exercise their brain and body. Also they can help bring people closer together as friends and are not as painful to the eyes, unlike books and computers. Therefore, parents should not be concerned or worried that video games are causing harm to their children. Video games are a fun experience for both children and adults.
